Body Mass Index
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indicator of body fat based on a person's height and weight. You can use it to determine your weight classification. People with a BMI of 30 or more are classified as obese and are at higher risk for health problems.
Look at the chart below to determine the weight classification for your BMI results. If your BMI is above 30, which is considered obese, you should consider eating healthier and starting an exercise plan to lose weight and become more fit. Studies show even a 10 to 15 pound weight loss can make a significant difference in lowering blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and other health factors. If your BMI is 40 or above, please consult your physician.
